Apple Magic




Fresh hand picked fall apples make everything just a little more delicious...

First up, apple butter.  Amazing and amazingly simple.  Just peeled sliced apples placed in the crock pot with some cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves and left alone.  Stirred occasionally so it wouldn't burn.







Next up, applesauce.  Again, just cored and sliced.  Left the peel on and love the mauve color.  Cooked the slices about 30 minutes in a pot just to soften and then "mashed" in the food processor.  So so simple.   I suppose you could peel the apples first if you hate the color but it doesn't taste like the peel is there and it's so much quicker.
